The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged areas needing improvement. He specifically highlighted gameplay and monster hunting as key areas requiring significant upgrades.
"We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience," he stated.
Kalemba emphasized that the recently released Witcher 4 trailer aims to showcase the enhanced power and intensity of monster fights, focusing on improved choreography and emotional impact.
Expect a substantial combat overhaul in The Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red (CDPR) recognizes the shortcomings of previous Witcher games' combat and is actively addressing them. These improvements are likely to carry over into future installments, especially considering Ciri's role as the protagonist of the new trilogy.
Interestingly, the developers also plan to incorporate Triss's wedding into the game. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest, originally intended for Novigrad, saw Geralt assisting with wedding preparations, including monster extermination, acquiring alcohol, and choosing a gift for the bride, reflecting Triss's burgeoning feelings for Castello and her desire for a swift marriage.
