Fortnite has officially returned to the U.S. Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad users after a long hiatus. In celebration, developer Epic Games posted on X/Twitter, marking the end of a five-year absence for the beloved battle royale game. The updated iOS store page mirrors its original layout from 2020, though the description now proudly declares, “Fortnite is back!”

While some U.S. Apple users might face difficulty finding Fortnite via the App Store search function, Epic assures fans that this will resolve shortly. In the meantime, you can view its restored store page here. For European players, Fortnite is now available through the Epic Games Store and AltStore.
This comeback marks the conclusion of a significant chapter in the ongoing feud between Epic and Apple, which began in August 2020. At that time, both Google and Apple removed Fortnite from their platforms due to an update introducing a direct payment system and lowering the price of V-Bucks. Epic argued that the app store fees charged by Apple and Google were excessive.
Following years of litigation, the legal battle kept Fortnite out of official storefronts for millions of players. However, in April, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney announced that Fortnite would return to the iOS App Store in early May, thanks to a ruling from a U.S. Federal District Court in California. Although a technical block from Apple delayed its initial launch, Fortnite is now live on iOS devices after five long years.
Players downloading Fortnite on Apple devices now have the option to buy V-Bucks directly through the Epic Games Store or via in-app purchases. For instance, purchasing the 2,800 V-Bucks pack for $22.99 allows users to redirect funds to Epic, earning $4.60 (or 20%) back for future company offerings.
