Showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner, along with director Mark Mylod, who is set to helm multiple episodes, shared their excitement in a joint statement: "After an extensive search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are thrilled to introduce our Harry, Hermione, and Ron. The talent of these three remarkable young actors is truly exceptional, and we are eager for audiences worldwide to see their magic unfold on screen. We extend our gratitude to the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It has been a delight to witness the abundance of young talent."
In April, Warner Bros. and HBO announced the first six actors to portray the iconic Hogwarts professors in the series. John Lithgow, previously confirmed as Albus Dumbledore, joins the ensemble, along with other actors whose roles have been subjects of much speculation and rumors.

Among the notable cast members are Nick Frost, who will bring Rubeus Hagrid to life, and Paapa Essiedu, set to portray Severus Snape. Janet McTeer will play Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon will take on the role of Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse will appear as Argus Filch.
The roles of Dumbledore, Hagrid, and Snape are not only pivotal in the Harry Potter universe but are also iconic figures in popular culture. John Lithgow, who will embody Dumbledore, spoke about the significance of his role earlier this year. In an interview with ScreenRant at the Sundance Film Festival, he shared, "I just received the call while at Sundance for another project, and it was a tough decision because it will define the last chapter of my career. But I'm thrilled. Some incredible people are revisiting Harry Potter, which made the decision challenging. I'll be about 87 at the wrap party, but I've committed to it."
