The developers of REPO have shared their roadmap for upcoming features, including a special "duck bucket" designed to prevent the notorious duck from eliminating players. Discover more about these planned improvements and see what the creator of Lethal Company thinks about the title.
Details on REPO’s First Major Update
Duck Bucket: Your Defense Against the Duck

REPO’s initial update introduces a fresh map and a "duck bucket" to help players deal with the troublesome duck. Semiwork Studios released a YouTube video on March 15, outlining the upcoming enhancements.
REPO is an online cooperative horror game supporting up to six players. Teams must carefully gather and extract items while surviving a terrifying environment. Players might encounter The Apex Predator—a small yellow duck that, if harmed or picked up, briefly transforms into a fearsome monster. It chases players for ten seconds before reverting to its harmless form.
Soon, players can use the "duck bucket" to capture the duck and prevent it from trailing the team. This tool also helps avoid accidentally triggering the duck’s monstrous form. The next update will also bring new character expressions and various quality-of-life refinements.
Introducing "The Museum" Map and Public Lobbies

Semiwork Studios has revealed a new map titled "The Museum," designed to challenge players’ parkour abilities. Extraction zones will also feature visual borders, making it easier to determine whether collected items are within the extraction perimeter.
Public lobbies are in development, and the team is reviewing player feedback to guide implementation. The studio stated, "Since a large portion of the community supports matchmaking with both public and private hosting options—plus a kick feature—we are exploring that direction. For clarity, adding a kick button involves complex server-side programming, which is new territory for our team."
However, the developers noted that this functionality is technically challenging, so players may experience delays before it goes live.
Lethal Company Creator’s Feedback on REPO
Since its February launch, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular co-op horror game Lethal Company due to similar mechanics and themes. On March 15, Zeekerss, the creator of Lethal Company, shared constructive feedback on the game, suggesting areas for future refinement.
He tweeted, "REPO is fun. Initially, the movement felt too slow, and the voice chat range seemed limited. But coordinating with the team to move a grand piano through a narrow mansion without scratching it—that's a brilliantly amusing objective for a horror game." In the comments, he elaborated: "I'll share more thoughts on Patreon, but here are two points: First, increase the voice chat range and reduce the muffling effect. Second, expansive levels don't suit the game's design as well as tighter layouts like the cramped mansion—that's where REPO truly shines."

Responding to a comment about silent enemy approaches, Zeekerss added, "Yes, the game needs an in-game method for learning enemy behaviors—I’m sure the developers are already considering this."
R.E.P.O. is the newest breakout co-op horror title, available only on PC. Currently, it ranks as the second top-selling game on Steam, just behind Counter-Strike 2. SteamDB reports over 230,645 simultaneous players, approaching Lethal Company’s all-time peak of 240,817. For the latest R.E.P.O. news, check out our article below.
