Elder Scrolls: Oblivion Remake to Feature Major Game Mechanics Overhaul

The MP1st website has recently unveiled intriguing details about an unannounced remake of *The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion*. These revelations are particularly compelling as they stem from the portfolio of an anonymous developer, rather than traditional insider sources. The project, reportedly being developed by Virtuos Studio using Unreal Engine 5, promises to bring significant changes to the classic game.

According to the portfolio of a former Virtuos employee, *Oblivion* is set to undergo a complete reimagination. This includes overhauls to core mechanics such as stamina, stealth, attack blocking, archery, damage reactions, and the user interface. Notably, the revamped blocking mechanics take inspiration from Soulslike games, aiming to address the original's lackluster blocking system. Additionally, the damage calculation system has been reworked to include visible reactions to hits. Stamina mechanics are expected to be more user-friendly, while the UI and archery will be updated to align with current gaming trends.

MP1st speculates that what began as a simple remaster—as hinted by leaked Microsoft documents—has evolved into a full-fledged remake. The publication also confirmed through its sources that the *Oblivion* remake will not be featured at the upcoming Developer_Direct. However, there are whispers that we might not have to wait long, with rumors suggesting a potential release later this year.
